Instagrid Gains Power with NetSuite
Success Stories

Mobile, sustainable energy
The Ludwigsburg-based startup instagrid began its success story in 2018 with the development and production of portable high-performance batteries for professional users. Tradespeople and service providers gain enormous flexibility and efficiency with this powerful, independent power supply. The extremely robust, waterproof, and durable “mobile socket” replaces gasoline and diesel generators, operating quietly and reducing environmental impact.
Growing business requirements
With the idea of making energy supply available on the go, instagrid developed the right technology at the right time. The company is experiencing extreme growth and now employs over 50 people. It quickly became clear that the IT support provided by DATEV until then was no longer sufficient for the company's further development. The choice fell on Oracle NetSuite, a modern, scalable ERP solution that adapts flexibly to the company's growth. A decisive point for instagrid was that NetSuite provides GoBD-compliant tax and accounting functionalities and extensive integration options in the area of omnichannel e-commerce.
Cloud ERP launch at top speed
In October 2020, instagrid started implementing Oracle NetSuite, initially to support financial processes and create a solid foundation for rapid growth.
The instagrid strategy of offering its B2C customers a direct digital channel also required the Shopify integration into NetSuite in January 2021, in parallel with the Finance go-live.
The optimization of supply chain processes, and in particular the connection of the logistics partner LGI for handling direct deliveries between external manufacturers and B2C customers, heralded the next phase in the second quarter of 2021.
As early as late spring 2021, the first devices were sold to B2C customers via the webshop using the integration solution between NetSuite, LGI, and Shopify and delivered directly.
NetSuite @instagrid
The following NetSuite modules have been implemented at instagrid:
- Financials
- Procurement
- Advanced inventory
- Sales
- Fixed assets management
The CELIGO Integrator IO enables real-time integration of order processing with NetSuite and the user front-end Shopify. This automates and simplifies instagrid e-commerce processes significantly.
The NetSuite fixed assets management module is currently being replaced by Netgain fixed assets management, which has a standard connection to NetSuite. With Netgain, instagrid can use additional functions for managing assets under construction and access optimized FAM reporting functions.
Driving internationalization forward
With rollouts to Finland and the United Kingdom, as well as to the USA, instagrid intends to expand its international presence.
At the same time, the ERP processes are being further optimized and the CRM solution Salesforce is to be integrated into the existing NetSuite environment.
In addition, there will certainly be exciting challenges in the future that need to be mapped in the ERP system: instagrid is currently working on building new business models in the energy sector. The mobile devices that instagrid has been selling to brand partners and end customers will also be available as part of a subscription model in the future.
